I am a compulsive creator. I am never happier than when creating something beautiful, from dressmaking, collage, upcycling, crafts, decoupage, paint techniques, photography, and now necklaces.  Growing up in places of extraordinary beauty gave me a deep appreciation of the land around me. Our home on a sugar farm on the KZN North Coast overlooked the sea and from my attic bedroom I watched the sun rise, and the full moon emerging from the darkening ocean. I also lived on a farm in the KZN Midlands, with magical indigenous forest, where I learned the vital role played by ancient forest on our planet. Living now in fabulous Cape Town, surrounded by Table Mountain and Lion’s Head, and taking a short drive over Kloof Nek to the breathtaking sweep over Camps Bay, I am in awe of the beauty around me.  Nature in our magnificent country is a constant inspiration.  Eco-awareness is important- I have been an inveterate recycler for 40 years; having lived on farms I realized that there is no ‘away’ in ‘throw away’ which is why I love to work with traditional African components from Ghana, Ethiopia and Kenya which are made from recycled materials.
